Research & Development

We conduct joint research with universities and research institutes on advanced technologies, including post-quantum cryptography.

Our Work on Post-Quantum Cryptography

Once sufficiently powerful quantum computers become practical, some of the public-key cryptography in wide use today may no longer be secure. PAYCLE is working on the implementation and performance evaluation of post-quantum cryptography, aiming for blockchains that remain secure well into the future.

01

Analysis & Suitability Evaluation

We analyze the processing speed, key sizes, and security strength of leading post-quantum schemes, such as lattice-based cryptography and hash-based signatures, and evaluate their suitability for blockchains.

02

Implementation on Blockchains

We implement candidate algorithms on blockchains and evaluate their performance. The results feed into algorithm improvements and proposals for new schemes.

03

Research on AI Applications

We also research ways to use AI to enhance security and operational efficiency, including blockchain monitoring, anomaly detection, and operational support.

Joint Research

University Joint Research

In April 2025, through an industry–academia partnership with Nagasaki Institute of Applied Science and the layer-1 blockchain UPCX, we established the "Green Blockchain Development PAYCLE / UPCX Joint Research Program." The program explores how blockchain can address environmental and social challenges such as renewable energy.

Implementing Post-Quantum Cryptography on Blockchains

Together with the university, we define the cryptographic requirements for blockchains and conduct comparison, implementation, and performance evaluation of leading post-quantum schemes. Based on the results, we identify challenges and improvements on the path to practical use.

Academic Activities

Conferences & International Events

We present our research at academic conferences and international events, exchanging ideas with outside researchers and experts.

Sensing Forum 2025
01

Research Presentations at Sensing Forum 2025

In September 2025, at the 42nd Sensing Forum hosted by the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers, our engineers presented "An Approach to Creating Value from Sensing Data" and "Challenges and Prospects for Blockchain in Cloud-Based IoT Data Management" — outlining design principles for using blockchain to strengthen the authenticity and traceability of sensing data, along with a vision for data management and value circulation.

ICRERA 2025 Official Partner

For the second consecutive year, PAYCLE joined ICRERA 2025 (October 2025, Vienna) — one of the leading international conferences in renewable energy — as an official partner. Drawing on our blockchain expertise, we aim to deliver solutions that bring greater transparency and efficiency to energy trading.

Intellectual Property

Patents & Intellectual Property

We build our research results into intellectual property, protecting our technology and putting it to work in new businesses.

01

NFT Rental Method

Conventional NFT rentals required temporarily transferring ownership to the borrower, exposing lenders to the risk of losing their NFTs. Our patented method lets owners provide only the right to use the content — flexibly and securely — while retaining ownership.

02

Patented in Four Asian Countries

We hold patents in Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and South Korea.

03

Broad Range of Applications

The method can be applied across digital content distribution: simultaneous multi-user access to e-books, music, and video; temporary usage-rights sales for metaverse items and educational materials; and recurring monetization models for content providers.
